Meet The Parents Session
Yesterday (Tuesday) was the Meet-The-Parents-Session with the teachers of my boy and girl in kindergarten.
Frankly, I had hoped to hear some improvement feedback from the teachers. Afterall, I quit my job and has been taking care of them for the past 2 months.
Feedback on my boy:
BY TEACHERS
- Still walking here and there
- He used to play alone but now plays with another classmate
- Does not cry in class anymore
- Still cries but in lesser frequency during Chinese lessons (by second language teacher)
- At times, refused to complete his classwork.
- Sometimes his work is done nicely, sometimes its messy.
- Can speak very well but is a quiet boy.
Overall, teachers say there is improvement, as he starts to open up himself. Another comment was that when forced to do his classwork, he does it sloppily.
Feedback on my girl:
BY TEACHERS
- Still cries at the slightest thing in class, but not during chinese lessons.
- Crying in school: she uses this tactic to get her way or toy. (of course she failed to do so)
- Capable of doing schoolwork.
- Slow, need to speed up on her work.
- Needs constant ‘chasing’ from teacher to complete her work.
Overall, teachers are happy with her work. However, she needs to speed up in her work, and we need to do something about her crying in school.
Both kids’s comments are similar to what the last session teachers had to share. However, this time, the session with the teachers are shorter, which is a good sign. Cos it means they have lesser things to complain now.
If you ask me how I feel, I guess I am happy to hear that they have improved and take the comments positively. Afterall, the teachers also want the kids to be good and have no problems when they go to Primary School.
