Subjecting Kids To Politics At Home…

Sometimes I can’t help thinking that we are subjecting our kids to politics at home….  :p

Boy: Mum, I want to play PSP (Play Station Portable).

Me: Ok, go ask Daddy for permission.

Boy: <goes to Daddy> Papa, I want to play PSP.

Dad: Have you done your homework? Ask mummy if you can play or not.

Boy: ……………<comes back to me> Mum, Papa say to ask you….

Mum: ……………

From then onwards, I will decide if I want to let him play or not. No more “routing” for approval.

This is like a typical scenario of employees asking for approval from bosses to perform a certain task. The most frustrating part is the routing. Usually bosses will say, this portion is not up to me to decide. You need to seek permission from another department.

And when you go to the other department, they will tell you, YOUR BOSS CAN MAKE THE DECISION….. ~*unexplainable feelings*~

I have met good bosses (both top & middle management) who are good, prompt and dare to make decisions. Their employees are happy and strive for the best. That should be the way.
Not that its easy being a leader/ a manager /boss, but certainly, procrastination does not do much good amongst the subordinates, especially if the boss are pushing for work done, and yet does not want to make the decision.
