When You See Someone Cries…

I was out today having lunch with my hubby in town, and when we are heading off to another destination, we saw a teenage girl crying and her friends comforting her.

My first thought was a very common one, “Why did she cry?”.

Subsequently, “Did she had a tiff with her parents?”.

Somemore, “Will she tell her parents about what had upset her?”.

Seriously, I have no answer. But I wished that if my kids were to cry “behind” my back, I want them to tell me what is wrong. I want to be close enough to them that they will tell me anything, be it bullying at school, liking somebody, got scolding from somebody etc.

This incident reinforced my thoughts of being close to them as their best friend, besides being a mother to my kids.
